October is Here
Hello All,
So it's been a while since I posted one of these blog posts but coming into October and the holiday season I figured this would be a good time to write one of these. I'll discuss some of the things I have been up to, and plans for the rest of this year and into 2025.
What's happened in the last month for me?
Shortly after leaving Twitch I sadly found out how many people were only supporting my off-twitch content because I was an active streamer. Once I stopped streaming interactions on my tweets and YouTube videos dropped by 50%. People I had considered friends for the last 4 years dropped all contact with me and turned their backs on me. It really made me sad when this happened. I genuinely form bonds with people and it upset me that it was all for nothing with some people. Losing these people I considered friends cast a dark shadow over TwitchCon. I decided to still keep my plans to go to the con but sadly did not enjoy my time there so only stayed for 1 day. Seeing people I knew in the crowds that had been so cruel to me during my down times I decided it was good that I left when I did. I felt like I did not fit in with the crowd there and maybe that was why I felt on the outside so much on Twitch. In the end, I am happy I went to check it out and happy I am focused on things away from Twitch these days.
What have I been doing content-wise?
I have continued to work and refine my motivational posts over on X, not only hoping to motivate others with my posts but also to keep my motivation going for myself. I will continue to change and improve my format and style to see what works and what doesn't. I have continued on with my Virtual Photography adventures in the Ubisoft game Star Wars Outlaws. The game has a real beauty and has been a fun play. In conjunction with that I have kept up my every other day YouTube lets play series for Star Wars Outlaws, with just today releasing episode #20. With this series and scheduling, I have been trying to work on my pre-production process and better refine it.
Honesty with myself about my content.
The honest truth is no matter how much I love making my content and having people enjoy it, growth on YouTube is rather slow if not feeding the algorithm. I need more interesting gaming content than just lets play series and i know this. Also, this every-other-day episode format being a time crunch some days and difficult has made it hard to focus on other videos to help feed the algorithm. After this Star Wars Outlaws series is finished I will again be changing up formatting and schedule release times for videos. Constantly adjusting to try and find what works is the way of content creation.
Plans going forward.
I am not the fastest content creator and never will be the first one to hit the trends but that will not stop me from continuing to do what I love. I will continue to work on and get out my SW Outlaws LP series along with a Game Review of Star Wars Outlaws to be released here on the website. I have some other projects and videos in the pipeline for future release to be determined still, never want to give away too much before it's released. Time management has always been an issue for me so I continue to try and improve that as I move forward this year and into 2025. I am still looking for offline work and continue to take small side gigs for editing and graphic design as they come up. Have had some equipment issues so my Etsy shop is not back open just yet but hoping to get some replacement pieces I need in the next few weeks.
Final Thoughts.
In the end, I miss my friends and viewers from Twitch, but happy to know that some of them still enjoy the content I put out on YouTube and X. I am in a better place mentally than I have been in years and things can only continue to go up from here. I could continue on for hours with more things to say but i think this is a good restarting point for this blog. I will work on more frequent blog posts in the coming months. Thank you to anyone who has gotten this far on this blog, also a big thank you to everyone who still continues to support me on Kofi, with Twitch subs, comments, likes, and shares on my videos and my X posts. I couldn't do it without my community. Thank you!
Stay awesome Sloths!
