1 Week Later
Hello All,
So it's now been a week since I stepped away from streaming so I figured now was a good time to post a blog update. It has been a hard but restful week, I miss going live, and I miss our chats and laughs but health-wise I feel a lot better than I did a week ago. This has been the first week in the last year I was not wrecked with worry, anxiety, and panic attacks so that has been a welcomed relief. Even with the same financial pressures I had a week ago, I am doing so much better on the stress front and the self-worth front.
Tech Problems
So the week was not free of tech problems, on Tuesday the 13th one of the fans on my CPU water cooler decided to screech loudly to its death. With the fan dying out the CPU temps have been hard to keep under control, thankfully without the stress of the streaming software and all that it entails it hasn’t been too bad. Gaming and heavy editing do cause the temps to start to rise but with regular breaks, it hasn’t shut down too much. Being almost 3 years since I purchased this PC I was not expecting NZXT to do much about it but I did contact them with some questions about the CPU cooler. In a surprise turn of events, they have shipped me out a replacement fan for the unit free of charge. #NotSponsored but I will say it was nice that they helped out so quickly with the shipment. My plan since receiving it yesterday is to take some time today to replace the broken fan with the new one and hopefully give this PC some more time.
Week of Relaxation & Productivity
Even with the PC issues over the last week, I have taken time to get back to reading a little to help calm my mind. I was very proud to finish the book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”. I had been reading this book for a little while, just now and again when I had some free time. I've always liked to read and take in other people's life experiences and ideas on how things work. The book was good for me and gave me some new insights and things to think about that I didn’t have before. I have a backlog of books that I want to get through so next on the menu is “Thinking with Type” by Ellen Lupton. A guidebook that covers all typography essentials, from typefaces and type families to kerning and tracking, to using a grid. This will be a good book to help me and my print shop on Etsy which will be reopening this upcoming week.
I have worked on the website some this week as well, from getting all the pages to be mobile format compliant, adding in August’s VP section, and the big one for me, writing my first guide albeit a small guide I am proud nonetheless. My hope is in time I will be able to add more writers to the team so the guide and review section can be continually filled with new helpful posts. My goal here for this website is a big one, and I will never aim to be the biggest site out there, but I will always strive to provide good and enjoyable content.
The ending of a Let’s Play Series
After posting 1 video a week for the last 30 weeks, this upcoming Friday, August 23 2024 the final episode of my Remnant 2 Let’s Play series will be dropping and the series will be concluding. I never expected much from this series in regards to viewers or people who enjoyed them, even among my community members but it was one of the most important steps I had to take for myself and as a content creator. One it showed me and proved to myself that I could be diligent and consistent with a content schedule, the most important thing to do is take action. In life, it's so easy to make plans for the future but never fully realize them because of inaction. Inaction is what kept me from starting this journey I have been on these last 5 years sooner than I did. It's a regret I have but sadly regrets happen in life sometimes. I’ve learned from my regrets and it's pushing me forward even harder now. I am currently in the process of narrowing down some games to bring some new content to the YouTube channel. Also, I have some videos based on written guides and reviews that can be found here on the website in the works for YouTube.
Final Thoughts
First off thank you for taking the time to read this blog and get a little more into the mind of “Aveege”. It's a crazy hectic place at times but one that is filling with more hope and optimism each day. The road I chose to walk will be a hard one, i know this, and some might say I made it harder on myself than it needed to be, but sometimes the most amazing things can grow from a fire or turmoil. Like the Giant Sequoia tree that uses fire to spread its seeds, I will use the fire of my life to forge a better future for not only myself but those around me. I don't know exactly how often I will update this blog, weekly, or bi-weekly, but I am growing and you might see more blog posts chronicling my adventures as I take the next step.
